Republican Candidate lor Railroad and Public Service Commissioner PRIMARY NOMINATING ELECTION, AUGUST S. The following is a brief review of my activities during the thirty-three years I have lived in the good State of Montana, and is respectfully submitted as in- . formation to which the voters are entitled, My first employment was in Great Falls, where I worked in a brick mill, later going to the mines of Belt and Sand Coulee, and the gold mines of Fergus County where I worked as a miner for about fourteen years, working in the Sand Coulee mines I proved upon 1 homestead twelve miles southeast of Great Falls which I still own and farm, and I also have a half interest in six hundred and forty acres of land in Dawson County. My first public office was deputy County Assessor of Cascade County, was later appointed deputy County Treasurer, and then deputy County Auditor; I was then elected County Auditor and served one term as such ; was then elected County Clerk and Recorder *nu served two terms in that office then elected County Treasurer and served two terms. In 1918 1 was elect ed Railroad and Public Service Commissioner for Mon tana and served six years during four of which I was Chairman of the Board- On June 1st, 1925, I was ap pointed Executive Clerk of the Consolidated Boards of the State, which comprise the State Board of Ex aminers, the Board of Pardons and Parole, and the Board for the Insane. This position, I held for one year resigning June 1st, 1926. to become a candidate for Railroad and Public Service Commissioner. Dur ing the year that I was the Clerk of the consolidated boards I did my very best to reduce the State's ex penses, and as to the results accomplished I would re spectfully refer you to the three members of the Stale Board of Examiners, irrespective of partisan politics In all of my public service I have done my verj best to give the people of Montana good service, per sonal devotion to their work and at the same time sav ing to the tax payers every dollar possible. JULIUS J. » WUERTHNER FOR YOUR NEXT STATE SENATOR Republican Ticket As a candidate for the legislature during the cam paign of 1924, I stated that, among other measured, 1 would favor "a law making the sale of stolen automobiles most difficult, if not impossible. As a member of the 1925 legislature I was the author and procured the passage of the auto title act, which has reduced auto thefts about 50 per cent; has broken up auto theft rings that were operating in differ ent part of the state; has reduced premiums on autu theft insurance about 10 per cent ; affords an auto owner 50 per cent better chance to recover his car if stolen ; will place about $100,000.00 in the road fund of the counties at the end of the fiscal year and has cost the car owner but $1-00 for the LIFE of his car. . i If elected to the Senate of Montana, I will favor, among other measures, one that will divide the counties into three eommissonen' districts, so that each part of the county will have active representation on the Board of County Commissioners.
