LIVE MONTANA TOWNS, An Irish Lassie Who Came from the "Ould Sed" in Eleven Days. She Was Promptly. Married Upon Her Arrival in Great Falls. eeorge Washinlton Taylor Ah Sing Also Takes a Wife-Interesting Notes from Missoula. GIIAT FALLS, July 11.--[pecial.1-H. T. Collett, a real estate man of Great Falls, has returned from a trip through eastern, Washington where the Great Northern ex tension is to pass. He says that region does not possess the inducements either fot settlers or for mining that Montana does. TWsere are some mines there, but not de veloped to any great extent, that may be come valuable when the country is opened up by the Great Northern. He does not loso for any large town to grow up in that region. B. R. Atkins, of Great Falls, and Miss M. E. Beale, of Ireland, we married Wed nesday evening at the residence of Mrs. C. B. Shields, by Rev. Ried. Miss Beale is the young lady who lately came over from Ire lanc, making the trip from Queenstown to Great Falls in eleven days. It was quite a social event and the happy couple received many valuable presents from their many friends. Goo. L. Heart., a man of extensive mining experience, from Butte, and owner of con siderable mining interests, both in placer and quartz, in the Judith region, has just returned after an extended tour. Mr. Heart prospected the country in 1877 and located some valuable placer claims, but did got develop them to any great extent at the time. He now has a large force of men building a flume to carry water to the placer mines, and expects in a short time to boein to work the mines extensively. The quart7 is rich in gold and silver, but cannot be operated successfully until better facilities for transportation are obtained. A ceremony occurred here Wednesday. the first of the kind in the history of Great Falls. George Washington Taylor, a Chi naman, was married to Miss Lena Bloom, a handsome Swede girl, at the Milwaukee house, by Rev. Rird. The Chinaman's name used to be Ah Sing, and be was for many years in the employment of Hon. J. F. Taylor, formerly of Helena, who got his name changed by an act of the legislature, the bill being introduced by Hon. H. F. Chadwick, of Helena. Mr. Taylor, the groom, is naturalized, is very intelligent and thrifty, and owns a good ranch in Cho teau county and a restaurant in Choteau. The Deutscher Unterustutzing Verein, . German society, was organized this week at Great Falls. It is a beneficent organiza tion, only for Germans, which pays a ben efit of $5 per week to its members who meet with injury or sickness. It has a membership of twenty-eight at present. A very flattering showing of Cascade county's progress is made by the aesess ment just completed by Assessor Rice. 'the assessment of 1891 is $12,521,226. against $8,646,584 for last year, and $4,311,690 for 1889. These figures show a very rapid in crease in the wealth of Cascade county, and thoroughly in keeping with the growti of Great Falls. Articles were filed in the office of the county clerk incorporating the Snow Creek Mining company, composed of Great Fall capitalists. The company has a capital stock of $1,000,000, and well engage in tbi mining stock and real estate business in Cascade and i eagher counties. Another company to engage in mining interest: only was incorporated. It is known as tth Queen Estes Mining company, and has e, capital of $800,000. F. C. Kress, of The Monarch, and E. K. Abbey, of the Neihart Herald, have bee.. spending some time in the city this week. 'Ihey report their respective towns in a very thriving condition. William Mee, from Benton, who espnt the Fourth in Great Falls, had his pocket picked and watch taken by William Kirby, a Helena crook. Marshal Treat went ti. Helena and arrested him and he is now in jail in this city. The watch was recovered. Messrs. John T. Murphy and Shirley C. Ashby, both of Helena, were in the Falls on business this week. Leon Ls Croix, ex-private secretary of Gov. Toole. spent the Fourth here and re turned to Helena Sunday. Major Davenport, of Helena, spent this week in the Falls. MISSOULA NEWS.
