I A GOLB MINE ON EAVERY ,LOT. Recent Developments in the KENWOOD district, comprising the Bradford, , Brooke and Syndicate Additions to Helena, make the above statement almost absolutely true. But there are other features of this part of Helena that out weigh the probability of finding gold in paying quantities, and those are the freedom from smoke and dust that SKENwoo WOOD Enjoys beyond any other suburb. the direct water service, insur ing purity and freshness, the fins view, the rich soil, school facil ities, street car service, good drives and numerous other advantages. Prices are now reasonable, and the present is the time to buy. My list com prises many very choice locations. 214, 215, 216, POWER BUILDING, HELENA, MONTANA. w., , -" 4 --:; 'ýh'. , 'Y ýA'q'± '!' z IT L. n i v."- f`t THE CAT'S EYE. & CurIous Gem WVhich Stands Very High in the Estimation of the Hindoo. This eurious gem is second only to the diamond in the estimation of the Hindoos, as they devoutly believe that each stone is inhabited by some good spirit or familiar demon, and that the possession of a fine specimen confers upon its owner exemption from the "chill of poverty." It is, more over, credited with being the guardian of its owner's wealth, whict: is constantly on the increase so long as he retains possession of the stone: but should he be induced to sell or barter it away, a malignant fate will pur sue him ever after. Nor can we feel sur prised that a people so imaginative and superstitione as the Iltindoos should regard this peculiar stone, with its shifting light and mysterious gleaming, with a mixture of wonder and awe. The Moors, and the inhabitants of Mala bar, from the remotest times, have held this stone in the highest veneration, and in common with more eastern nations have worn it as an amulet ale to secure riches to the fortunate possessor.
