The Seafaring Man Beet by Dangers That Are Hard to Avoid. New York, Nov. 15.-The British bark sate F. Troop, Capt. Smith, which ar rived to-day from Singapore, brought to port the captain and crew of the Italian bark Torqueto, of Castalmar, abandoned at sea Nov. 7 In a sinking condition. Capt. Trampani, of the lost vessel, reported that he salled from Genoa, Aug. 18, for New York, with a cargo of marble and rage. The vessel experienced a series of heavy gales soon after passing tJrough the Strait of Gibraltar. Bad wbather continued, and on the morning of Oct. 26 the wind suddenly shifted to the southeast, gradually in creasing in fury. At 7 a.m. It blew a hurricane, lasting for several hours,-and the little bark sprung a leak. It was very evident that the vessel was doomed. Signals of distress were kept hoisted daily. The crew kept faithfully at. the pumps, and just us they were despairing of rescue, a sail was sighted to leeward. She proved to be the Brit Ish bark. Troop. Capt. Smith had just previously observed the distressed ves sel's signal. All were taken on board and she continued on her voyage. London, Nov. 15.-The Britlh ship Culmore, Capt. Rhodo, foundered six ty miles off Spurnhead, county York, yesterday. Twenty persons were drowned. The Culmore registered 1,639 tons. She hailed from Londonderry, and was owned by Thomas Dicks & Co. Grand Haven, Mich., Nov. 15.-The small schooner, Antelope, of Chicago, capsized off here to-day and three sail ors were drowned. The schooner Alert went ashore and will probably go to pieces. The crew was rescued after a hard fight by the life saving crew. Chicago, Nov. 15.-The schooner D. S. Austin was sunk off Ludington, Mllch., last night. The crew of seven were rca cued by a life saving crew. The schoon er Apprentice Uoy was also beached at Ludington. No lives lost. From a letter written by Rev. J.
