Our Hxndrra
Will remember that a vory heavy rain
fell here about two weeks ago to night.
We were showu yesterday a lot of hail
stones which fell during that rain at the
farm of Mr. Fleming, between Five anil
Ten Mile creeks, about 12 miles southwest
of this oily. Col. W. U. Milton, who shown
them us, stated that he gathered Ihom
yesterday, nearly two weeks after they
fell, out of (he bed of a crock. Some of
them, when they foil, were as large ns a
patridge-egg, and without araiu they .will
stay there two weeks longer.
The paying teller of the New Orleans
National Bank on the 10th inst.,wns rob
bed on tin street of $2'i,0()0. He had put
the money comprised in two rolls of $500
aud $1000 bills iu his pockets and gone
out to settle some accouuls. of the bank
aud when ho stepped into the olhco of
the lianking Association aud felt for his
money he found it had disappeared.
