and 2(i0 horses, anil Is subdivided into de
partments, each having its chief. Tho trip
thus far has been sort of triumph tour, and
llarmmi is headed this way rejjicing over a
well filled treasury. In St. Louis tho show
mot with great success, and tho following
sketeh of the, perfurmnncs thoro will give
people some idea of what they miry expect
when It comes;
The performance opened with tho entrance
of 'H men and womon on gaily caparisoned
horses, while the elephants, camels, trained
horses, etc., paired la an outer ring. Then
the living curiosities, Captain Constenlenus,
the tatooed Greek; Colonel Ooshen, tho Pal
ostino c'lant; IJueen Mb, tho twolve-pound
midget, and two native Z.lus, wcro exhibited,
the latter indulging by throwing assegais at
a target with groat skill. Signora Marccllus
as a groat performer on horseback attracted
general attonlion by her leaps through hoops
and baloons, while Mr. Orrin ilollis in his
bareback acts of horsemanship whirled and
leaped about as gracefully as thomjh on tho
ground. Mine. Uookrilfcsrriod oil' the palm
as a daring ridor, especially in her manage
ment of six horses, while her dives through
hoops ami baloons and skipping over strips
ot limning nan a lively elleot upon specta
tors. Big. Hebastain, howevir, displayed
the crownirgact ot performances in riding,
standing upon a bareback horse, with his
son I.ouis standing on his shoulders.
Ho also performed many other ro
markablo feats, and left the ring amid ap
plause. Among tho other ring attractions

IFerr NovgL'ird; the tire horse lalamander,
Mr. John Halcholor and a host ot others.

News of a fatal poisoning in Dontoil'cOun
ty, in which two out of four persons acciden
tally poisoned havo died, reached tho city
Monday, and is confirmed by parties just from
Benton. Dr. Lynch, while practicing in tho
iamilv of Mrs. James Baily, made a fatal
mistako in administering morphine- for
quinine to Mrs. Hailey, her daughter Dorev,
Mrs. Tinney and Miss Callio Eubauks. The
young girls both died from tho effects of tho
fatal drug, but Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Tinney
recovered after a deal of Biilloring. The
terrible acident has thrown a pall over
Lynchburg, where tho parties resided, and
tho physician is severely censured for mal
