morning last wo started out in quest of fun
and wo found it at Mid Lothian, at tho
spring, Wo saw an anxious crowd looking
at a large eel that has been there for a long
time: and at the school house we found a
large crowd Interested in the closing exer
cises ol a school; nml at the depot we found
a vet y large crowd watching and wailing
fur tlie train from Dallas. We all turned
our little folks loose while wo were waiting,
and it wus a treut to see them gather in
the wild flowers. The train was .clayed
Irom some defect in the engine, and it was
near two o'clock when tliev came on the
ground, and every one of them was fully
prepared to enjoy a picnic dinner. We
lelt them at about live o'clock, but have
learned since that the train that took them
back to Dallas was lute, and thul they had a
hard lime in tho rai.i and hail storm.

good, except tho worms have ruined some
of the wl.eut.
Well, as picnics are all tho rage, I went
Hitttirduy to one at Hardis, ami 1 had a
line large time. General Lewis, of Marvin
college ol Waxaluifhio, and Judge Temple
ton, miide very eloquent speeches, and we
had all Ihe dinner that we could do justice
to, and in the evening the choir discoursed
sweet music, Dr. l.agle, of Waxuliachic,
leading. How things do change I
