Bailey, 3638 State street of the Alumni As sociation of the Virginia Normal and Institute at Petersburg, Va., to pay off In full by May 27th and 28th the remaining $2184.10 due on the 1325.00 worth of land purchased and pre sented to the school during his ad ministration. Mr. Bailey is asking the support of all graduates, mem bers and friends of the school. Investigations made by the Bailey Press Bureau, 3638 State, street through the Jurisdiction of the A. M. E. church connection show that the outlook is bright for Rev. A. J. Carey, presiding elder of the Chicago district, for one of the bishops to be elected at St. Louis In May. Mrs. M. Despite the cold wave that struck Ardmore Saturday p. m., every body seemed to come forth from winter quarters garbed in full spring style and an excellent Sunday school programs were rendered at all the leading churches. Friday night Mrs. Porter, the very excellent soprano soloist of national reputation, who is mak ing Dallas, Texas her headquarters gave a splendid recital at the First Baptist church to an enthusiastic audience. You who failed to hear her missed a rare treat Lawyer Betts of Houston, Texas, was in the city last week and made an excellent address Tuesday night at the M. E. church, holding his audience spell bound for one hour on the subject, "Readjustment." He promises to re turn soon, at which time he will speak at the First Baptist church. Don't fail to hear him and you will be both enlightened and entertain ed. The G. O. P. party is planning some big things in the state of Okla homa for this coming campaign; get busy, get on the firing line by organ izing clubs and leagues and seeing to it that everybody eligible to vote is registered when the time comes. Let us resolve to give our united suffrage to the party or set of men who will do the most for our race, not as individuals. The pupils movement In our city school is proving to be a great suc cess in. helping to beautify the cam pus and providing them with play ground equipments.
