Colored citizens of Dallas were on
Saturday evening Nov. 20th, very
much shocked when the news that
the soul of Rev. Lewis Bethel Skin

had taken It flight to the God who
gave it, was spread over town.
In the passing of Rev. Skinner
another link in the local ministerial
chain has been broken by tho silent
Messenger, and has gone into "That
bourne from which no traveler re
turns.". The peaceful end came Saturday
evening at 7 o'clock at the parson
age on South Preston street after an
illness of three weeks duration. Rev
Skinner, was bom thirty-four years
ago in Pilot Point, Denton County,
Texas, rnd came to Dallas in his
youth. He has been a member of
Salem for a period, five years.
He was called to tho, jfpstcrata. of
the church in Nineteen rnd Seven
teen, and during the ihrc; years of
his administration much ' good was
accoTuplliiied.' Among h's achieve

into effective groups that threw
around his administration a tower of
strength and durability.
Salem Baptist church was one
time located down below Fred Doug

was called to the pastorate, ' to get
into more favorable auarters was

Actuated by this motive he ne
