TO DR. ALEXANDER S. JACKSON, On His Twenty-First Anniversary as Pastor o! New Hope Baptist Church. We honor thee, thou man of God, Thou pious sage Who 'mong us trod; Fearless exemplar of the right, Leader of' men who dare to fight Crime and sin wherever found, Courageous, rock ribbed, safe and sound, Friend, adviser, constant, true Oh, man of, God we honor you! We praise thee, oh man of God, For with thy gosjiel chast'nlng rod, Thou leadest on through darkest night, To truth and love and shining light Thou art a watchman on the wall, Answ'ring duty's every call We sing a song of praise to thee, ,l Exponent of sweet charity I We rev'ren'ce thee, thou man of God, Who walketh upright, 'bove the sod; Thou messenger of truth divine, Teacher! erudite, refine Pastor, gentle, full of grace, Fighting error face to face We honor, praise and rev'rence thee, For thy true Christian piety! ' This is the burden of our song Oh, man of God live you long, To cheer our hearts, to calm our fears, To soothe our griefs, wipe 'way our tears To guide us through life's devious way. And point to Him who taught to pray When souls dlstress'd need comfort, light In Him alone, are strength and might This Ts the burden of our song Oh, man of God. live long, live long! Dr..
