Marshall Hiarni Edwards was severely beaten by an unknown white people, the parties it is said went to Edwards house and one cal led hiin out while others waited down the street when they nut him in the automobile and speeded away about five or six miles and he was beaton almost to death, he has a fighting chance for lire. When picked up by a white lumber man hauling lumber, he was unconscious and has been every since. It is not known what was the cause of the beating at this writing. He is resting fairly well. Four white men met him in the street and they Jumped from their autos and began hurling stones at him. Luckly he was not struck, the cause of the rash act is not known. We are still going forward, Sun day school good as ever. The church and Home Mission are doing good work. The Lord hath done great thing for us. Our finance haa not decreas ed very much, we count for that. We are in a rally and the clubs are at work for the third Sunday in Sep tember. Our report each Monday night, from 20 to 23 dollars and you know that the membership is and some of them don't pay ten cents a month, but we are going just the same, by the help of God. The Busy Bee Club Just closed suc cessfully, entertainment known, as a Tom Thumb Wedding, total receipts $10.60cts., the Busy Bee Club's president is Miss Thresie White, a splendid young lady of our church and as a student of the Talladega College, Talladega, Ala., and- Miss Willmer Dellum also is one of our noted young ladies and a member of our church and a teacher in the Beau mont city school. She is the treasure for the club. Mrs. Susie McKlnney the Instructor for the club, is a child trainer. Miss Thelmer Harris, Miss Jewerl Harris, Miss Zenoble Harris, are splendid young ladies, and mem bers of our church and the club and are making good in the Fred Doug lass High school and with these young ladys help, the club is mking good. This club is made up ot young peo ple. They are enroute for $75.00 by September 17th.' Oh Yes! I must tell you about the wedding. Master L. C. Harris was the Roman Priest, the the weding celebration consisted of about 24 boys and girls. The matri mony was very solemn, it was per form in Roman language.
