He indicatei that it such orders are is eun:l he will settle the problem within seventy two hours. If the troops will merely maintain the peace, not interfere with the civil functions of the courts, he thinks he can settle the troubles now extisting, and he proposes to do it in this wise: In 1869 the Legirlature of the t"tate, in ti'e hands of the Radicals, passed an ejlctment law providing that if any offloer of the state held his office unlawfully he should be ejected upon the writ of a court of competent jurisdiction. The law was passed for an emer gency, which at the time was intended to eject certain Democratic ofllcers who had been counted out on the Retuniug Board plan and refused to vacate their offices. Hampton saysv that he will act under ths law. Acting Chief Justice Willard is to isune the writ of eject mont. and place it in the hands of the Sheriff for -ervice. If the United states milltary officers re rusH to allow it to be served, a test is to be made. Unid r the statute law such resistance is a felony, and the Sheriff can, in his discretion, call upon an unlimited posse to sustain himself and the dignity of the court. PRAYED 01UT. A Lady in Palmyra Freezes Out a Tramp. [From the Hannibal Clipper. The wife of a certain miointer in Palmyra has, since the viasit of Mirs. Tuacer to that city, pro fessed sanotification. La-t Friday a tramp marched into the kitchen of the aforesaid minis ter's wife and demanded something to eat. The lady, without a word, went and got a bible and read to the tramp a chapter or beripture. Then she knelt down by him and prayed that his soul might be fed with the foot and drink of everlasting life. khe prayed long and earnestly -- she prayed by the hour. Mean ime that tramp stood there, with his arms crossed over his stomach, wonder ing if she never would get through administering to his spiritual wants and give a little attontion to his temporal wants. He was forced to conclude that she would not. While she was yet on her knees ap pealins to the Throne of Grace for mercy on his soul, the tramp siently and sadly stole away, profanely rrrm.rking, when he reached the street, that "euch treatment might be very good for his col, but it was bad on his stom ach."
