We the undersign d, Deputy Sheriffs of Thon. r. Handy, Civil Sherifd for the parh of Orleans, do deolare under oath, that on the morning of the 8te of anuary, 187, ,whilst in quiet occupan cy of the Supreme Comtroom, a large body of armed Metropolitan policemen suddenly appeared as the entranoe of the passage emanlicating with the station.house, and metered the courtroom. We protested against their preence, and ordered them to leave, and addressng ourselve to the commanding oloasr, G Loan, who had ordered the gates and other entr es barred and barricaded again protested to the name of the 8heriff or parish of Orleans against their action, and again ordered them to leave the building, which he re ftoed to do, sayin that he was omcered by Judge Ladelin to take possession of the court room, and hold the same, and allow no one to enter without apus from said Judge Ludeling. We remained i the court room with the police until next morning, when we were relleved by the Sheritff and his posse, who obtained quiet posses ion of the ecurt-room. W. G. Rushing homrn. he stabbed his wife, a wealthy American woman, six times, and then escaped with a girl, his mis tress. But the next day the girl was found dead with live bullet holes in her breast, and Io Fll was found near by dead, having blown his brains out. His wife and Capt. Wrutz are also dead.
