On Friday next, the 2.th intt., the electors of
New Orleans will vote whether or not a sub
scription to complete the New Orleans Pacifio
Railway, to connect this city with Shreveport,
on Retl river, and Marshall. Texas, shall be
made by the tax payers of our city.
On such an occasion, one more vital to the
commercial existence of New Orleans than any
other, the undersigned unite in a call upon all
business houses to suspend on that day their
ordinary occupations, so as to allow time for all
their employos and themselves to attend at the
polls and ail to secoure suchi a sanction to the
subscription as will silence all opposition at
home and abroad to the future success of our
oni, great enter prise., the only one ever set on
foot exclusively controlled and intcnd.d to be
owned and directed, and in every way managed
in the interest of New Orleans and Louisiana,
