SRarrox I, Be it ordained by the City Council of the city of New Orleans, reat private mar kets for the sale of meats, fish, vegetables fruit and other comestibles. may b- opened and kept in any portion of the ci y of New Or leans not within a radius of six squares of any public market of said city, provided the pro prietor of sainld market pays the license pro vlded therefor, ad otherwise compiles with the provisions of this ordinance and other or dinances relating to the same subject matter. Sno. a. Be it further ordained, etc., That all private markets shall be kept in the lower story of the bllid ln. In whiqh they are opened, and shall be provided with stone or concrete floors. They shall be thoroughly washed and cleansed daily. No meats or oth r comestibles shall be exposed on the banquette. The shall be closed punctually at 12 o'clock merldran of each day, For any violation of any of the provisions of this section the persons offending shall be liable to a fine of not less than five nor more than twenty-five dollars, to be imposed and collected by the recorder of the district in which the said market may be situated. k EO. 8. Be it further ordained, etc., That the Administrator of Commerce shall have full au thority. by himself or deputy, to inspect all pri vate markets at any hour when they may be open for business, and any refusal by any pro prietor of a private market to permit such in spection shall render him liable to a fine, to be Imno-ed and collected as provided in the pre ceding section. In the oflice of the clerk whereof the deed of sale was reoorded, on the twenty-fifth of March, 1875, in deed book No. 7, folio 867, t r a monition or advertisemi nt in conformity with sections 2370 to 23.o of act No. co of the General Assembly of 1870.
