Reynolds, of the Third Avenue Cable road. The grlpman, under the Im pression that he wanted to get on, would , atop the car. Ward would then take note of the number of passengers and the Indicator and wrilk away. Inspector Reynolds said thnt Ward was one of several men who have been pur ; aulng these tartls along the line from Harlem to Cbatham square. Doherty and Detective Kehoe were waiting outside the door. Purcell held the ticket In his hand, and the officers asked them where he bought It. He replied that he bought It Inside, and Identified Levy as the man from whom he had purchased It. Levy was arrested and locked up at the Leonard street station.
