THE BODY MEETS TONIGHT

date for Mayoralty Despite His

The Mayoralty campaign will bo
formally opened tonight at Coopr
Union where more than 1000 delegates

of the Citizens Union will gather to
adopt a platform for next fall
An effort will be made as noon lu the
convention Is called Jo order by R Ful
ton Cutting to put through resolution
giving unqualified Indorsement the
administration of Mayor Low This ef
fort will provoke a contest which may
decide whether Low will be the nox
fusion candidate
The leaders will try to hold back
resolutions criticising Mr Low and his
administration but officers of the Citi
zens Union admitted yesterday that it
would be difficult to keep down such ex
pressions among the delegates
When the convention Is called to or
der tonight there will be B34 delegates
from Manhattan and the Bronx 898 from
Brooklyn and sixtyone from duenna
and Richmond The Twentyfirst As
sembly District will have thirtyeight
the largest representation
Among the delegates from Manhattan
will be John Da Witt Warner who at
tacked Mayor Low for his advocacy OJ
the Bostwlck Rapid Transit bill last
week There Is disposition on the part
of Mr Warners friends to commence
a movement In his behalf for the fusion
nomination for Mayor
