O SIMILAR CASE
A friend of mine has gone to the trouble of looking up tho flics of tho
newspapers of tho fall of 1890 when Comptroller Myers was the candidate
I Yp all parties for reelection Ho was first nominated by the AntiTammany
ks Conference Committee whose action was ubsequontly indorsed by tho Re
Ppubllcan County Democracy and Peoples Municipal League conventions
j Tho Tammany Convention nominated him after he had been named by the
< Ifuslpnjsts The GermanAmerican Reform Union and other Independent
f t organizations indorsed Mr Myers after he had accepted the Tammany
j nomination Mr Jerome who had served aa Assistant DistrictAttorney
j under Col Fellows was one of the most active of the Fusion campaign ora
ll 4 tprs of 1890 and neither by word or pen objected to tho candidacy of Mr
i Myers because he had received the nomination of all parties
1 NO CRITICISM BY PLATT I
i My friend assumed that the discussion of today would bo about R
4 repetition of that of 1890 but found absolutely no criticism of Mr
J erobut on tho other hand very general commendation
i Even Mr Platt of Owego Tioga County Is quoted In tho NOT York
Herald of Oct 20118 giving the following answer to the question

The circular coma out at the close of
the market when Steel preferred Which
had been up to 63 34 Ihiid dropped down
to CO 68 and caused muah discussion In
brokers offices In the Street It waS
regarded as algnlflccnt that Air Morgan

said that It was only the right thing for
the corporation to do after having got

The circular reads as follows
To the officers and employees of the

Thu Finance Committee sees no rea

Accordingly It deems It proper now
to dispel apprehension of ION by the fol

The corporation will at any time dur
