Bos ton howeve- still maintains a boo<l demand for near' dates. "The Boston American Wool and Cotton Reporter" The market continues In a healthy condition, although trade la not active, the sales of th« last week being th« smallest recorded for »ome time pant. But there is con siderable business per.ding. and the outlook Is regarded as very satisfactory. The London sales are expected to open next Tuesday with prices fully sustained on all grades, especially on' merinoe, which some members of the trade expect to see quoted higher, and the developments In the goods market are such as to lead to the belief that a good, healthy worsted business Is to continue, with prospects of an improving demand for woollens later Quarter blood and low wools are looking up a little, ■wools of 4Os and 36s count being reported as In slightly better inquiry, which, coupled with the recent strengthen ing In English markets of low wools, has afford«d con siderable encouragement to holders of such stock, and the tOM of the. maiket for the lHtter is decidedly steadier. The closo of tha Eastern war ha* not resulted In any break in price*, as was so freely predicted a few months ago. On the contrary, th/re has been a positive strength ening In values since the conflict terminated. The clews of the war has given a loose rein to a great deal of business abroad, which had previously been held in check, and orders even for army purposes have Increased, the goods being needed for reclothlng of the troops and rehabilita tion of garrisons. ?v>r ordinary home purposes In Russia and Japan the demand shows evidence of increasing, and in the formsr country more domestic wool will be used at home than ever before during the coming year, all of whloh has contributed to strengthen the position of the low wools .Sales for week. 3.715.000 !t> Prices during week— Ohio XX and above S64<rS7c; Ohio X. 3463.V; Ohio No I and No 2 washed 4flifl>4lc; Ohio fine washed delaine. .'<&-•; Or.Jo and Michigan un washed delaine. 2&Q31-. fine unwashed and unmerchant able, 28«30c; one-quarter. three-e| r hths and one-half blood, unwashed. 32H®S.V; common braid 20A81c- Texas 24C2Sc: California. 24fi32e: Valley Oregon.
