A representative of the brokerage firm in the transaction said that Mr. Underwood had not pur chased the site with the intention of im proving- it for the use of the typewriter company of which he is the head. Another important downtown transaction was the sale by Camman, Voorhees & Floyd, for Walter Smith and Louise A. Jones has bought, through the Holden-AHen Realty Company, the Georgian, a forty-seven room hotel at Rockland Lake, opposite the station oftthe ■West Shore Railroad.
