SURPRISE JN GLOVER CASE Widow and Six Others Accused of Being Accessories. Mass.. June 53.-A further sensation developed .to-day in the extended investigation of the mysterious murder of Clarence P. Glover, a Waltham laundrj proprietor, last fall. The Middlesex Coun ty Superior Court to-day issued indictment warrants against Mrs. Lillian M. Glover, widow of the murdered man, and six oth ers, who are charged with being accessor es after the fact of Hattie Le Blanc, who is accused of murdering the laundryman. it was announced to-day that in addition to Mrs. Glover the following persons had been indicted secretly: Samuel Elmer and Alton P. Tupper, Mrs. Glover's counsel in the contest of Glover's will; Mr. and Mrs. * rancis Freeman and Mr. and Mrs. Sey mour S. Glover. Seymour Glover was a brother of the murdered laundryman. All the defendants, with the exception of Miss Le Blanc, whose case comes up In September, pleaded not euilty when they were brought into court and were immedi ately placed on trial. As soon as a jury had been impanelled the jurors went to Waltham to inspect the Glover house and laundry. The defendants were surprised when Dis trict Attorney Higrgins moved for an imme diate trial, and several Boston lawyers were rent for by special messengers. Gen eral Charles W. Bartlett Is the principal attorney for the defence. The seven defendants were ordered to furnish $2,000 bonds each to insure their lib erty during: the trial. Bail was furnished in each case. The District Attorney bases the charge of being: accessories after the fact on the allegation that the seven defendants concealed Hattie Le Blanc with intent to enable her to evade arrest. The Jury returned from Waltham in the afternoon and District Attorney Hlg-gins made his opening address. The first witness, Medical Examiner George L. West, gave a detailed description of the autopsy on Glover's body. Dr. Nich olas W. Cousens, in whose private hospital Glover died, testified that Glover signed a statement accusing Hattie Le Blanc of the crime In the presence of a notary public. Dr. McDonald, Patrolman Tully, of the TValtham police force, and the witness. This was the first intimation that Glover had made any other than an oral accusa tion. After Mr*. Mary A. Dutch, who lives in the other half of the house used by Dr. Cousens as a hospital, had told about her finding Glover lying on the steps of the hospital, court adjourned for the day. A novel prisoner paced restlessly back and forth behind the cell bars of the West 30th street station last night, howling with rage at hi 3 detention and angry because he has not been tried. The prisoner is consid ered* dangerous. He goes by the name of Sport. About three months ago Stanley Kisch, of No. 393 Seventh avenue, bought a lar^e brown dog— this same Sport— to watch his house. When Kisch came home one night he found Sport sick, and, as he says, a trunk missing. Kisch says a negro stole the trunk after having poisoned the dog. was reprimanded for his negligence and took his master's words much to heart. Kisch decided to move yesterday and hired a negro named Eupene Smith to carry away his things. Sport was on the job. but m;ide not a hostile move until Smith attempted to take the trunk, when, remembering what his master had said about trunks and negroes, he bit Smith on the leg. Sport was arrested by Patrolman Keenan and taken to the West 30th street station, charged with assault. Doorkeeper Xigger smith, a lover of animals, would not have locked the dog up, but Sport snapped at him. Perhapa the dog heard the door keeper's name— anyway, he was locked up for another attempt at assault. He will be tried before the Board of Health man to day.
