10 BLOCK IN GREENWICH VILLAGE SOLO Trinity Church Corporation Disposes of Big Parcel on Which Large Mercantile Buildings Will Be Erected. FIFTEEN STORY HOTEL An entire block front bounded by Green wich. Washington. Morton and Barrow street traa sold yesterday by Trinity Church Corporation to James H. Crulkshank. The latter has dealt extensively in property in this general neighborhood, and v.-ill Im prove th« fit© -with one or more ei^ht story flr<?proof mercantile buildings, as tenants may require. H. S. Scheuber & Bros. •were th* brokers in the transaction. Most of the houses now on the property are two story frame buildings, many of them stables. On the Barrow and Wash ington street corner are four four story brick buildings, and at Morton and "Wash ir.irton streets is a three f-tory brick build ing;. In all there are about twenty-five of these old structures, which will bo torn down to make room for the improvements planned by Mr. Cruikshank. The block front comprises sixteen lots. The frontage on Barrow street is 204.1 feet, on Morton street BU and on Greenwich and Washington streets M feet each. This Fives a total street frontage of about 800 feet and an area of approximately 40.O» square feet. The block is directly opposite the United States Appraiser's Stores and diagonally opposite the new building being erected for the General Electric Company. One block away are the Christopher street stations of both th© Ninth avenue elevated and the McAdoo tunnel to Jersej- City and Herald Square. A fifteen story hotel and restaurant will be built on the old Brewster carriage fa- tory property, at Broadway, 47th and 4S'th streets, by the Atlas Development Com pany, It was said yesterday. Goodline and other residents have tried to prevent the Intrusion of business in the Madisoa avenue section between 34th and 42d streets by paying large sums for houses there. Recently suits were thrashed out in the courts in an endeavor to prevent Mar garet E. Cameron from improving the northeast corner of Madison avenue with a tall business building, which has since been completed. CARROLL'S NEW HOUSE LEASED. John F. CarrolL former Tammany chief tain, has leased his house at No. 40 West 67th street for fiv<- years to H. Bramhall .... an aggregate rental of $100,000.
