UNKNOWN GOOD WOMEN. ! In the new Liverpool Cathedral there is to be a lady chapel, with a magnificent scheme of stained glass windows, com memorating the deeds of good women. Memorial to Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Christine Rossetti. Grace Darling, Mary ■ Collett and a lons list of other famous English women are there. So far the plan ( is praiseworthy, of course, but It Is nothing | new to dedicate memorial wlud»sif to good ; women or men, provided they bo suf- ■ ficiently well known. But President Noble, I in his baccalaureate sermon to the gradu ating class of Goucher College, called their attention to the surprising fact that these J windows are dedicated as well to the un- | known good women of England. For ex ampl«. the Inscriptions read: "Queen Vic toria and all noble queens," "Catherine Gladstone and all loyal hearted wives," "Grace Darling and all courageous women." "Elizabeth Barrett Browning and all who have seen the infinite in things." The designers of the lady chapel realized that the goodness f.iat brings no fame to its possessor is just as worthy of being { honored as the kind that attracts the at- . tention of the world. THE TRIBUNE PATTERN. The dress that is closed at the left of the front and worn with bloomera of match ing material is at once practical and smart.
