COPPER MARKET.— copper pro ducers and selling agencies that have been quoting electrolytic copper at 12\ cents a pound are now asking 123s cents a pound. Sales have been made as low as 12'- cents 11 pound. The demand for copper is light, and no buying to speak of is expected be fore next month. In the mean time the sellinc agencies are pretty well sold up. Consumers are inclined to "hold aloof from the market ponding the next Copper Pro ducers' statement. They hold to the opin ion that September will record an Increase in stocks, as the curtailment In production will not be reflected in the association's statement for some time to come. CUBAN AGRICULTURAL BANK.— At the office of Speyer & Co. it Is admitted that that firm Will have a financial inter est in the Credito Hipoticario Cubano, which Is to be established In Havana as an agricultural mortgage bank. President Gomez has just signed a decree granting the concession to establish such an insti tution, which will operate in a manner similar to the so-called agricultural banks of South America.
