While at her home, according to Mrs. IngersolL Perry called on him as often as three times a day. PL.AX INSPIRED IN NAVY.-The belief Prevail!, in naval circles that a plan will be Presented in the next Congress for the ulti mate abolition of the marine corps. For more than thr*e years the cor '*' 9 has been th_< cause of dissension in the navy, if Congress is called on when it reconvenes in December to act on the question. It is be lieved that the movement wilt be inspired by the navy and naval influences. Fol lowing Mr Roosevelt's order taking the marines off the warships and assigning them to duty at the navy yards, friends of this branch of the service came to Its res cue, and secured legislation annulling the order. It la being demanded now that the marines be mustered into the army, pref erably in the coast artillery.
