" What do clothing donlors know
nbout shoos," said a cobbler to one
of onr customers. " Those shoes you
want repaired haven't any cork in the
solos and are stuffed with rags."
Whereupon wo wero roundly abused
and tho cobbler ordered to make a
pood pair of shoes, although ours
lmd givon excollent service.
Last week tho aforesaid customer
confessed the above, adding that the
cobbler's "custom," shoes proved
perfect frauds.
Our shoo buyer agrees to eat every
pair of shoes Bold by us as " cork
soled" that can bo shown to have been
mode minus tho cork. Tho "stuffing"
that customers occasionally find under
a worn solo is a pieco of felt placed
there to prevent scraeaking. It doesn't
always do it, but is tho most success
ful devico UBed for that purpose.
We not only soil good shoos for
men and boys, but wo "stand by
them" if wo go wrong.
Wo are also prepared to repair in
best manner at moderate cost any
shoe sold by us.
