At this time tho trolley cars were moving in such numbers that they did not seem to bo more than 150 feet apart on the bridge roadways as far as ono could see. There wero four cars at a time loading on the loops and from one to four more in waiting at the entrance to tho loons at the north roadway. Itljht about the loading cars there was a great mass of people, but the most interesting fea ture of the situation was that although the stream of people entering tho station was con stant, this hunch of pcoplo did not Increase materially. As fast as they came they found room in the waiting cars and theso carried them away. When the height of the rush came the trolley people allowed some cars to load nearStho north side of tho loops, so that there were often two cars on a loop loading at the tame time. Assuming that there was a car having every forty-live seconds, this made eighty each hour, and, with seventy persons to a car. there were f.,000 persons carried off even siitr minutes. Homer C. Dunn wero arrested on bench warrants issued by District Attorney Kellogg, upon indictments found by the Grand Jury. Dr. Chamberlain is indicted for assault and battery and for at tempted bribery of a witness, ex-Sheriff Glenn for embracery of a Grand Juror, and Constable Dunn for attempted Bribery of a witness. This whole proceeding grew out of tho scan dalous manner In which tho affair, of tho Lyon. Rural Cemetery navn boon run for year. past. Tho particular instanco was the burial of Phcebo Aleo, a blind widow, 80 yoars old. Her husband bought, as is alleged, a lot In the cemetery thirty years ago, and he, his two sons, who served in tho Union army, nad four minor rela tives wero burled In tho lot. Spaco for tho widow only remained. Permission to dig her gravo was refused by Dr. Chamberlain on tho ground of non-payment for the lot. Competent legal authorities Instructed Mlchaol Abort, a veteran, to dig tho grave. Ho commenced at noon andMug until dark. Tho next morning he found the grave filled. Ho dug It three times, and three times was it reflllod by n gang of mon hoadod by Superintendent James P. Boylo. He appealed to County Judge Sawyer, who has not yet filed hlB decision. Then Dr. Chamber lain was arrested on tbo same charge, hut upon nflldavits'of ex-Sheriff Glenn and others: it was shown that tho feeling In Lyons wassolntcnso that Dr.;Chambcrlaln could not get un impar tial trial, and his case was sent to tho Grand Jury. hen the Grand Jury sat last week it waalchargcd that ex-Sheriff Glenn had ap proached Grand Juror Abram Weed in Clyde and talked about tho Chnmberlaln caso freely with him. This led to Justico Dunwell's scath ing chargo referring tho embracery case to tho Grand Jury for investigation. Constablo Dunn and Dr. Chamberlain had also tried to got Michaol Abert to slay away from tbe Grand Jury, and for this thoy were each indicted for attempted bribery. I)r. Chamberlain Is a mem ber of tho Loyal Legion and is nlso n member of A. D. Adams Post. O. A. It., of which Homer C. Dunn and Mlchaol Abert are also members. Mr. Abort alleges that ho was approached and threatened with having trou bio wltb his pension if he persisted In going before tho Grand Jury in tbe Chamberlain case, and it Is highly prob nblo that there will be a big row in Grand Army circles over this graveyard incident.
