speculative market In the Ituniely. ap
pears as nothing less than manipulation
of a 'particularly flagrant .type. The
stocks have been pushed up to a level
where they sold altogether out of lines
with the 6 pcr-cent. notes of the com
pany and also the prices made for the
new stock "when Issued ." The notes,
by the way. closed strong yesterday at
47 S, while the stock, were weak. The
terms received by the noteholders
dlcate a value for the
about 53 to 55.
