It la notahle, however, that very few large buildings are now pending. The Ameri can Iiocomotlve Company It finding It extremely difficult to obtain ateel foot ings and even special rolled steel. This may necessitate extensions at the vari ous works. Plans have already been prepared for cylinder and hammer shops and other Improvements to be made at the Allegheny and Schenectady works. It Is under stood that the contract has gone to the American Bridge Company. The Pennsylvania Railroad has placed an additional order for bridges, calling for 50ft tons of shapes, with the Fort Pitt Hrldge Compnny, and Is still In the market foi .en spans which will require 0O tons of structural steel.
