APPROXIMATELY two years ago the House of Collins opened its building
at Ni.nc East Fifty-seventh Street, dedicated to Art in Dress. Twc sources
of inspiration determined its development: lirst, the support of and recognition
by discriminating American women who sought the beautiful in costume; second, the
artistic impulses which center in and radiate from Fifty-seventh Street.
The growth of the House of Collins confirms the truth that originality in designs
and adherence to artistic principles of dress find an appreciative audience'
