I ? MORNING HERALD. NEW YORK, MONDAY MORNING, JUNE 18, 1888. ?? Natlce to Country Subscribers. Hereafter whenever any coantry subscription to the Herald, reaches a fortnight of its close, subscribers will receive their papers, done up in yellow wrappers. This plan is adopted in order to give our patrons, in the country, notice, either to renew their subscription by a fresh remittance, er to expect it to cease at tne close of the ponod for which it had been paid. Sub scribers, will, therefore, understand, after this notice, what is meant by receiving their papers done up in ytlow wrapping pa per. Ry this method we furnish individual subscribers with a proper notice, without putting them "o the ex -penseof postage, and thus shave Amos Kendall, by way of requital for his shaving so often our subscri be/8. The fashionable morals of the present day, as sanctioned by the Honorable the Kitchen Cabinet, arc to cheai as much as yuu can, so that the las does not reach yon. I do not practice on this princi ple to any extent, except when 1 have dealings with the Kitchen?and on such occasions it is adopted purely in self defence?if you dont shave you'll get shaved. Kvery day I am receiving .otters complain Ing that th? Herald has faded. when, at the same nrnc, I know full well that it is regularly mailed.? "Why these complaints? Recause many of Amos's cub-treasurers will be looking into the Herald, to see the lineaments of their master accurately depicted. Tney read, laugh, but forget to put the Herald into its wr pper again. Hen-alter l beg tnem a? a favor?as a personal favor to me?to try to be as honest as they can. ] know they have precious little of t+iat article ; b it a precious little is better than none. The Herald Shipping List: oh Bennett's Ame bican Shipping List.?We now regularly issue on Saturday evening of every week, in a single sheet, comprised in the Evening Herald "f that day, the 41 Herald Shipping List,"or "Bennett's American Shipping List," for the use and cenvenienca of shipping and general merchants, both of this and of other coantries. It comprises all the ship news of the week, combined in one sheet, and arranged on a plan entirely new?a specimen of which we have given during the last few weeks in our Morning Herald. At present, eur Weekly Herald con tains all the literary, philosophical, political, mone tary and commercial intelligence, exclusive of the ship news, which is valuable. The want of room compels us to exclude this large masa of authentic chipping intelligence. Our purpose is to remedy this evil, by the publication, in one sheet, of all the ship news of tho week, digested and arranged in such a way as to save trouble and time to the commercial reader. This aheet is the size of the daily Herald, and will be sold at two cents per copy, or $1 00 per an num for subscribers at a distance, payable in ad vance. In addition to alt the shipping intelligence of tho week, it will contain all the Commercial News of the week, and the news of the day on which it is pub lished?each Saturday, up to the close of business. Not one of the least important features of this aheet is its cheapness, combined with ils accuracy and com prehensiveness. It will be a specimen of the philo sophy of ship news and shipping intelligence. Our means to execute this purpose are many and am ple. We own a moat excellent Newe Boat Establiah mest, equipped and manned in fine style. It is all ?ur own. Wo have besides an arrangement with the seven Pilot Boats of New York, from whom we pro cure afl the shipping intelligence they can rake and scrape in the course of the week. The New York Pilots arc the meat gallant set of fellows in existence and we always (root them as they deserve. By these means we eaa, and havafrequently outstripped every other paper in New York, in the amplitude and accu racy of oar ship news. The concentration of these efforts in a single sheet, will he of manifest advantage to merchants throughout the Union, and throughout Europe. cT NltTICI.-Tlif wtaoletnle but new of Dr. Braaarathl principal nfficr ia now rrmo?nl to hW new and tpacioa* rttab Nakmriit No,Ml Broadway, where hi* ceehraud "VBOB TABLE UNIVERSAL rll.LH" may at all tin**be obtained (n large or tntall guaiHhle*,*ad where all ag*ata are deairad to direct their aomniunlwatinni.
