of tbe spectators across Madison Park, and the
Park police were entirely unable to keep

to the orowd already gathered on Fifth avenue in.ids
that portion ot tbe thoroughfare nearly impassable,
but by tbo tituo Colonel Juy arrived at tbe heud ol tho

The drive up Fifth avenue was a coraplolc ovation
from start to lloisb, aud all tho way irom tbo Bruns
wick to Forty-second street tbe sidowulks weru
crowdod fix deep aud every available sioop was
packed to us utmost capacity. A loug Hue of privule
carriages wore drawn up on the west side, and
lollowiug the procession ol couches came innumerable
others ol every de scription and style. The couches,
led by llie President, ironed slowly up the avenue nun

Tho banquet at tho Brunswick last night, given by
the members o! dm Couching Club to their gliosis, was
