during the year 1867, on the following days,
namely: On the third Wedne(d(y iu Febru
ary, April, Jane, August, October, and Dc
cember. The meetings will be held iu one of
the public school bouses in Carrollton, com
mencing at 10 o'clock, forenoon.
The standing rules of the Board regulating
examinations are the following:
1. Each applicant not personally known to
the Board, must produce a certificate of good
moral character, of late date, and signed by
oue or more responsible persons.
a. Each applicant must come furnished
with pen, ink and paper; and also with McGuf
fey's Fifth Reader.
5. To each applicant will be submitted a
list ot questions on Arithmetic, English Gram
mar, and Geog raphy, to be answered in wri
ting. 4. No applicant will be regarded as qual
ified to teach, nor entitled to a certificate, who
does notcoirectly answer one-half of the ques
tions submitted in each branch.
6. Certificates will not be Usued on the)
day of examination, but they will be remitted
by mail or otherwise as soon as practicable.
And when an applicants deemed unqualified,
a note stating that fact will be sent him.
6. Applicants coming in after tho class
formed and the examination has commenced,
will be expected to wait until the next regular
day of examln ion.
7. No certificate will be granted to any per
son who Is kuown to the Hoard to be habitu
ated to he use of profane language, to ba In
temperate or di-dionest.
8. Aach applicant ainst furnish hinself
with a stamped envelope, and himself indorse
with hi own name and address, and in such
