SERVICB C.T.S. acting like a small boy, grabbed up his tracks on Hayden ave., took up his street car and went home, leaving us on the cor ner in the rain waiting for the bus that busted or was unavoidably de layed. Like a patient coming out of ether, the drivers are doing as well as can be expected trying to un ravel a button-hole stitch with a jhoe-horn. Everything ugly that las been said about the No. 30-Coit Express bus is not half ugly •nough. IT IS TERRIBLE. I have ,hree more gripes. 1st: It is not made clear that 13c fare is good East of Superior d. on both east and west-bound juses. 2nd: No local stop at Holyoke to iccomodate Huron (west-bound) Road Hospital and Post Office traf fic. The Bus S:gn is placed near ,o the Car Barn’s stop to accomo date the Library, whereas if it ,vere at Belmore-Holyoke it would ierve a much better purpose and be at a traffic light, a stanchion and serve all of these busy places, and serve them better. 3rd: Did you ever board one of .hese express buses on Hayden about 4 p. m. and find only 5 or •J passengers? Seats aplenty 'lory be! At East 105th you arc surprised when the driver opens he door, says a few words to the :rowd waiting there and as quickly •loses the door and drives on. Seems too good to be true until it about 83rd he shoots across Euclid and heads for Carnegie. The driver ex plains, ‘4These are Shuttle Buses. Can’t you read?” Well, yes, but it would have been much better if he had told us at Shaw that these rush-hour buses turn back on to Euclid ave. at 75th and head back east to take care of the five o’clock east-end traffic. He felt justified when he gave us free transfers at 79th and told us we could continue on another west bound bus. Dashing around that corner is really something, and in the rain, yet. I had seen buses stop at East 40th and so requested that this one let me off there as nearest to the University Club, to which the driver replied, “We only stop at ‘forty’ on Sundays. You will have to ride to 30th and take a street car back to 36th and walk up.* Here, use this free transfer.” Nice of him—that 18c and two FREES had profited me nothing. Like the chain store’s 4 for 50c or 3 for 37c you figure it! Diaper Service One passenger quite appropri ately called it Good Diaper Serv ice they have so many changes. E. Z. MARK P.S. If that Arena Stop has been in effect for a month, my driver had not ben so notified. Anyway, dinner at 6:30 is not held for a 7 p. m. bus. E.Z.M. To The East Cleveland Leader: “I say reading the East Cleve land Leader becomes a good habit, I just have to have it. In fact, I have a copy of it here before me” writes Mrs. Martha Tabor from Siesta Key, Fla., where she is win tering with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Elli cock. “I like to keep in touch with East Cleveland doings. There is no better way, at home or here, reading the East Cleveland Leafier”. Mrs. Tabor flew south and says the co-pilot informed the passen gers they were up 19,000 feet five miles. “The higher they fly the better I like it,” she adds. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl T.
