Berg on Hazel rd. The Green’s will be moving to their home in Berea shortly after the first of the year, Mr. Green having been transferred from Day ton to Cleveland by the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Green of Rosemont rd. are home from De troit where they were called by the sudden death of William Fritchey, the husband of the former Mrs. Charlotte Smooth of this city. The couple were married about 18 months ago and have been residing in Detroit. Mrs. Fritchey returned home with her son-in-law and daughter. The many friends of Elizabeth Walter will be happy to learn that she has successfully undergone another operation at Huron Road Hospital. Elizabeth, young daugh ter of the Robert D. Walters of Glynn rd., was injured several months ago in a fall over a ledge in Forest Hill Park. All the way from San Gabriel, Cal. Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Wheeler and children, Jeanette and Jona than, are traveling to spend Christ mas w’ith Mrs. Wheeler’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Hinsdale of 1740 Chapman ave. Prior to going west the Wheelers for 13 years resided on Pembrook rd., Cleveland Heights. The Christmas Day din ner will be served in the home of the C. M. Hindales on Graylock dr., Willoughby. Mrs. Allan Fisher of Newark is the holiday guest at the home of the G. E. Bartholomews, 16376 Glynn rd. Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Bartholomew are sisters. Peggy Dickinson’s first visit home in seventeen months has her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Dick inson all in a dither. Peggy is associated with the Welfare De partment of the City of Los An geles as a social w'orker and ex pects to arrive at her home, 16312 Nelaview just before Santa gets there Christmas Eve. 2 Home for the holidays are Mr. and Mrs. Norman Pearn and son, Gregory of Detroit, who will be visiting Mrs. A. J. Hagan, sr., Mr. and Mrs. Art Hagan, jr., the M. F. Pearns of Euclid and the R. J. Pearns of Willoughby. Thanksgiving was spent by the Norman Pearns and son, Gregory, in their own new home at 15445 Heyden rd., in Detroit and this fall most of their Cleveland rela tives have been there to view the new abode. Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Salmon, 15720 Euclid ave. will join other relatives Christmas Day in cele brating the 79th birthday anniver sary of Mrs. Salmon’s father, Mr. William Young at Burton. Miss Shirley Dayton, who has been a patient in Lakeside Hos pital for the past ten days is looking forward to being home again, at 13500 Shaw ave., by Christmas. Miss Jean Hoffman, the chil dren’s librarian at North Branch Library, will celebrate Christmas with home folks in Harrisville, Pa. Talk about family reunions at Christmas, the Karl Browns are certainly having one, to be high lighted with the coming home from Huron Road Hospital of their very newest granddaughter, De borah Jean, born Sunday, the 19th to Mr. and Mrs. Tory Walker, jr. of Mayfield Heights. FORT BLISS, TEXAS Second Lieutenant Charles Lyle White, Jr. of 859 Nela View rd. is among the officers now attending an Associate Basic Course at Fort Bliss. He and others in the class will spend 13 weeks studying light and heavy antiaircraft gunnery, antiaircraft tactics, guided mis siles, radar and communications. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lyle White of the Nela View rd. address, Lt. White is a graduate of Shaw High School. Mary Hoge, 13428 Shaw ave., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hoge, will portray the part of Greta, in the play “The Promise”, a Christmas story of a harper who promised to return by Christmas day, to be given on Fairytale Theatre, Sunday, December 25th over WGAR at 12:30 p.m. Miss Mabel Backhaus is a patient in St. Luke’s Hospital where she has undergone surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Preston, 16 West Elm st., Norwalk, Ohio, are the proud parents of their first child, a son, David Michael born December 1st and weighing six pounds 121^ ounces. Mr. Preston is the former Gloria Jeanne Unmitz who attended Euclid Shore School prior to enrolling at Shaw High School from which she w'as gradu ated in 1943.
