OHIO Finest Resort on Lake Erie Rentals By Week or Month Liberty 1-0916 Foot Notes! by FRANK FERRATO Will Foot Health Be Improved By Talking About It? In a way, yes. I would not say that mere talk has reduced the death rate caused by tuber *culosis -but I do belifve that the educational program of the Tu berculosis Association has saved many lives by uprooting the old custom of labeling tuberculosis "Consumptive" and shutting them up to die. Talk will not cure cancer either, but discussing early signs of the disease will lead to many early diagnoses and cures. I believe that this decade will be known in health education history as the most productive in foot health thinking in 300 years, because modem young parents are studying the subject and dis cussing what they read. Bunions, hammer toes, coms, callouses and even a large percentage of weak feet are rooted in ignor ance and ignorance cannot withstand the light of intelligent discussion. For instance, the children are given candy, cook ies and tea every day, they’re not spoiled. “I finally understand they reclaim land from ocean right here.” Minna her diary. “We climbed up the side of the dyke and I expected to view a roaring ocean and a beach. Instead I saw grass and stakes dotting the quiet water into squares. The water was really mud. The rivers carry the clay (it’s 40% clay soil here) to the sea.
