Joseph F. Downey, S. J.., dean of the Col lege of Liberal Arts and Sci ences, and director of Carroll’s summer session. Dr. Michael S. Pap, assistant professor of history and politi cal science, will direct the Rus sian Institute, the first confer ence of its kind to be held at the Jesuit campus in Univer sity Heights. “The purpose of the Russian Conference is to make teacheYs, students, and the general pub lic (which is invited to attend) more keenly aware of Soviet Russian Domestic problems and policies and of the differences between Communist theory and practice,” said Dr. Pap.
