Designed by architect Antho
ny Cerisi and built by the Bol
ton-Pratt Company, the mod
em new office is just a few
doors away from East Cleve
land Savings’ old facility. The
new building presents a strik
ing contrast to the old. Un
officially opened three weeks
ago, the bright, uncluttered
structure has “many distinct
advantages over the old loca
tion”, according to manager
Jack Wise.
More Parking Facilities
“The new building has more
off-street parking, better pri
vate offices for conferences,
and enough paying windows—
and tellers—to provide the kind
of service our customers should
have,” he said.
Wise pointed out a number
of changes in the styling of
financial institutions within re
cent years which reflect
changes in attitude.
“Right or wrong,” he said,
“all financial institutions used
to be designed to impress peo
ple with their magnificence. In
stead, the dark, dour furnish
ings and decoration helped fri

den Office marks one of the
last major steps in East Cleve
land Savings’ 40th Anniversary
celebration. Founded in 1920,
the company has grown with
the area to its present size from
a small group which first made
transactions in the rear of a
neighborhood hardware store.

plant manager, also paid spe

Joseph Krocker, John Marek,

Carl Pohle, all who had com

Bernard Keister, a certified
public accountant with the firm
of Keister-Ritchie and Co. was
elected president of the East
Cleveland Exchange Club for
the coming year.
He has been a member of
the local group for the past
seven years and previously ser
ved as 'first vice president and
secretary.
