New Officers Rename Building In Honor Of Pastor At the Annual Meeting of St. James Lutheran Church recently the congregation voted to reded icate the building formerly used as a church and name it Shaffer Hall, in honor of the Rev. M. Dean Shaffer. Pastor Shaffer served the congregation for a 27 year period. The dedication services have been set for a future date. The congregation also elected to its Council Leonard Balk, 50 MEMBERS wm mere Presbyterian Church on January 18th, at which time the Board of Trustees resigned in body, to facili tate the combining of the duties and powers of the Session and Trustees into one body. Along with the proper adjustment to the By-laws of the Church, the following new officers were elected to office in the new Session,! now also serving as Trustees: Robert Aird, G. Don Barnes. held at Winder- Harry Barndt. Joseph DePaul, James Gibbs. Elmer Kish, Roy Meyenberg Walter Richter, and Carl Larson. These men will serve as deacons of the council for a three year period. Women Hear Talk By Noted Humanitarian Dr. Robert A. Hingson of Department of Anesthesia Western Reserve University will speak to a joint meeting of the United Lutheran Church Women and their husbands on Tuesday, at 8 in the church, 1424 Hay den ave. Dr. Hingson, noted as a tire less clinical worker, investiga tor. organizer and great teacher of w’orld wide renown, has tra velled one million miles during the past quarter of a century in conquest of human pain. In June. 1958 he lead a four month tour that covered 45,000 miles of five doctors and nine technical associates. On this tour these members of Project: ‘‘Bro ther’s 1 plane, donkey and camel in order to visit missions and hos pitals and bring much needed help and distribute over three tons of medical supplies costing a quarter of a million dollars. Dr. Hingson di rected immunization of 90.000 people against cholera, typhoid and polio.
