The Great Bend mills sometimes sell i million pounds of bran a day. The cows and hogs in the vicinity of that town must live on the fat of the land. Lane university at Lecompton opened this year with a big attendance, which will make the old faculty which thought they had killed that institution by resigning feel kind of cheap.
