DFPI V Trt iiTl VDiVFD DDADC Since they beve commenced grading the roada be baa made an inquiry as to the cost per day and finds it runs about $13.30 per day. I am aurpriaed at this taxpayer to find him aucb an ignoramua that be did not know that a farmer was allowed $3.00 per day with team to work out road tax, and that it took four teama to pull a grader, and the road overseer to handle it who ie allowed $1.50 per day for bia aerv icea. Heahould have known thia without making inquiry and expos ing ia ignorance. Outside of this tax it only costa tbe towoabip $0.00 to $030 per day to run a grader which ia aa cheap aa anyone can expect .to run one. He eaya the preeent system of working the roada is a joke. I think he must be blind or carries bis bottle aod par take freely when he travela the roada, or be could aee a vast im provements in the roada tbia apring, especially in Lyon township, where the farmere are allowed to work out road tax inatead of paying it into tbe county treasury and having it squandered aa it waa two years ago. I aay let tbe farmer work tbe roada; who knows bow to work the roada better than tbe farmer? Who will do more work in a day than the farmer? The farmer paye the taxes and be abould know where his money goes to, and when worked on tbe road by him it ia money well spent and value received. Give us more tax. The worst people we have to con tend with are these good road howlers snd knot-beaded King drag advocatera. We have one in our road district who bss $27.00 or $28.00 road tax which be refuaea to work. His excuaeie just like thst of "taxpayer." He doee not like tbe idea of beiog allowed $3.00 per day for bio work and eight houra for a daya work, which ia a very poor ex cuse. Now, be can nave a cnance to work it out at $2.00 for teama and put in aa many boura aa be wanta, twelve or fourteen houra per day if he wanta to, and have the work done around his place. I know he won't do anything but l.owl and expect nook one else to do tbe work. I thank you vcrv much, Mi. Taxpa -"- ' -"' jmpliment k.. . - f. I r,i- i.-, . "J "1 v had a auper. .' - , -orkers.
