The Co-Operative Trades and Labor
Council met in regular session Tues
day night. President Albert Brown
presided and 36 delegates were pres
ent.
The minutes of the previous meet
were read and approved.
The credentials of Harry Beyers,
Street Railway Employees, Chas. Elbie
Metal Polishers, John Burgess, Iron
Molders No. 283 and Frank Moore,
Metal Polishers were read, received
ind delegates installed.
Several bills were read and ordered

workmen's compensation act and also

stating the condition of affairs in

Machinists Local No. 241, hel4 an
other rousing meeting Wednesday
night. A vast amount of routine bus
iness was transacted. Reports from
the various shop committees show
that everything is running along
smoothly for the craft with the ex
ception in two shops, the Hamilton
Machine Tool company and the Black
and Clawson company where strikes
still exist.
A big class of candidates were obli
gated and another big bunch of ap
plications were received. This has
come to be such a regular thing with
this live organization that the novelty
of lai'ge numbers of new members
coming in has worn off, it is simply
taken as a matter of fact to be expect
ed and no longer causes a ripple of
excitement.
The lodge is now rapt up in the
showing to be made in the Labor Day
parade. Of course it is expected that
the organization will make the biggest
showing, in point of numbers, of any
organization in the parade but it is
the desire of machinists lodge to also
make the best and finest showing and
to this end everything is being done
possible to do.

job of plumbing done will have to go
elsewhere than Hamilton to get the
man to do it for there is no longer an
unfair plumber, Master or Journey
man in the city. The only master
plumber in the city who was not on the
fair list signed the agreement with
the journeymen last week making this
