Goodwin, of Hamilton. "Bill" Goodwin for the past two years has been president of the asso ciation, which is the limit of time that one can sepve a§, president under the constitution of the association. He was also elected as delegate to the National Poster Advertising As sociation convention to .be held at Kansas City, Mo., in October, and will epresent the poster men of Ohio at the national convention of the Adver tising Clubs of the World in London, England, this coming summer. HONORS FOR GOODWIN With all the write-ups on outdoor igns that some of the newspapers have seen fit to print lately, from their numbers it looks as though there might be an attempt to elimi nate a competitor from the field, ather than an honest effort to im prove. '"Bill" states that very little of the matter.is truth, and a great amount of it is based upon the fact that the companies named in the articles have taken from off the right of way within the boundaries of the state highways small signs thai never should have been placed upon them in the first place. The association to which Goodwin belongs has long been against sucli ulvertising, and was behind a move ment to eliminate it from the publir highways in this state, and which, as is well known, has been accomplished in Ohio. He says poster advertising has so improved in the past few years that national advertiser can use the service as one of his mediums by which to move his production, and receive the same service and size pos ter board in each and every town and city in the country. Ohio is now represented by 705 poster advertising plants ,and gives employment to many thousands. There are over 12,000 poster adver tising plants in the United States, nd are all built upon the same lines, amely, uniform poster boards and ervice. The code of ethics of the Poster •\dvertising Association is given be low, which in itself shows what high tandards this ciaft sets for itself: 1—Every poster advertising plant must continue to refuse all mislead.
