CHICAGO TYPOS BOOST BENEFIT Vote to Jump Assessment From Five to Seven Per Cent Chicago (ILNS)—As a further means of caring for its unemployed members, Chicago Typographical Un ion No. 16 has voted by referendum, to increase the assessment on wage earned from 5 to 7 per cent for a pe riod of six months, beginning Jan uary 3 next, at which time the 5 per cent assessment would have expired, in accordance with action taken last summer. The increase in the amount of the assessment means that the unemploy ed members of the union will receive an amount of money weekly which will more nearly approximate the cost of the bare necessities of life, but still greater than the standard set by public relief agencies and charity organizations.
