Joe Steeher is si ill glamoring
for a bout with “Sirangier” Lew
is. “I will keep after Lewis un
til I get a bout,” says Steelier.
Steelier is also trying to gel a
tryout for the initial sack posi
tion on Burch’s Omaha baseball
team. They say Steelier is a play
er of good caliber. If this is so,
Steeher not only should be a help
to the local nine, but would also
be a great drawing card.

Those Nebraska Comhuskerii

in preparation for their football
games immediately after their

next year will have one of the
heaviest .sehedules ever attempts

ing into such intense training, as

Billy Wells and Billy Ryan are
scheduled to box in Cincinnati
New Years eve. Wells was off
here sometime ago, but claims
that he has a surprise in store for
the fans. That reminds us of the
Wells-Sehlaifer fight. Fight did
we sayt — meant to say farce.!
If Wells cannot do better than he
did against Schlaifer, we would
suggest that he hang up his gloves
on the well known wall of “re
tirement.” Here’s luek to you,
Billy.

season is concerned. In Creigh
ion's place Nebraska will bring
to Lincoln the Oregon Aggies. *—
The Creighton team was not sel
ected because they arc not recog
nised by tile Eastern cr tics. We
wonder where the Oregonians are
recognized. We believe the Busk

when they take the Aggies on in
