ment Thursday of army ellglbles from
eighteen to forty-five, inclusive, who
have not nlready registered.
The list contains the addresses of 1303
registration bureaus, which will ho open
Thursday, between 7 a. m. and 9 p. m.
for tho most part they ore at the regu
lar polling places.
Registrants may enroll 'at any bureau
designated by tho local board of their
respective district, although to avoid
congestion the ellglbles nre requested
to select the one nearest home.

There Is an abundance of thrills In the
spectacle "llombardment of Hhelms"
which features the show at tho Cross
Keys. The act Is picturesque and
timely and was well receh cd.
"Some Baby" proved to be a lively
musical tabloid. Other acts on the bill
Included Frankle Fay and the Jazz
Hoys, Burns Brothers, Jack Morley nnd
Lexey and O'Connor, singers and
dancers. "The Fight for Millions" Is
the photoplav attraction. The show Is
one of the best ever presented at the
West Philadelphia playhouse.
Minstrels Dumoni's
Burlesques on rurrent events featured
the bill at Dumonts. The Bongs of the
minstrels aro of the snappy kind and up
to the minute.
The new faces In the circle are be
coming as well known as tho old favor
ites, and their songs and stories brought
many laughs. The show is a good one
from beginning to end and the Jokes
new and applicable. Alt Gibson and
F.d(lo Cassidy are prominent on the

High Flyers Trocadero
There Is not a dull moment In the
High Flyers, which pleased a big audi
ence at the Trocadero. The action Is
fast and the lines bring no end of

VICTORIA "The Prussian Cnr." written
nnd directed by Raul A. Walsh. Special

This Is a wartime film, which seems
to have been put -together In somewhat
of a hurry, for It lacks the usual caro
and details which have heretofore been
part of tho good qualities of a produc
tion bearing the name of It. A. Walsh
as director. Many of the scenes aro
characteristic of this director's style of
work, but the Injection of so many
sencs which arc to be found In the regu
lar topical revues is to be regretted
But the audience liked the film, and it
should meet with further approval be
cause It exposes tho German prepara
tions for war and spy activities. Cap
tain Von der Goltz Is credited with hav
ing supplied the facts for the story. He
also plays In It.
An unusual cast Interprets the many
roles. Those most familiar are Miriam
Cooper, Patrick O'Mally, Sidney Mason,
Walter X. Lawrence. Ralph Faulkner

who later turns out to be well, It Is
bet-t to see this play from the start be
cause of the novel twist given tho plot.
There Is a fine role for Marguerite Clay
ton as an American girl who Is rescued

When "hubby" directs n piny It Is In
teresting to see the result ho obtains In
response to his Instructions, but then
Thomas II. Ince supenlsed this play, to
It Is difficult to tell how much credit
belongs to Fred Nlblo. It Is to be re
gretted that recourse had to bo made
to some sceneo which were poorly In
serted Miss Bennett appears as the wife
of a Herman spy who tries to make her
a partner to his crimes, but without suc
cess. Sho conveniently gets rid of him
find meets the hero of tho story. Thero
nro many novel twists throughout, but
the direction save the story from be
coming stupid. Jack Holt is tho hero
and Itobert McKlm the husband, while
Charles K. French Is a German spy.
Maude George Is excellent as a Hawaiian
girl and Lydla Knott is effective as tho
hero s mother.

play. "The most Important question about
such nn entertainment Is. Does It my'

It hold the Interest? The second ques.

first, for unless the spectator Is success
fully baffled In hit amateur detective
work until the final curtain interest In
the denouement must necessarily slump.
Sherlock Holmes himself might well
have been stumped by the mvsterlous
theft of "The Blue rearl" during a
demonstration of hypnotism at the Adel.

The first performance of the season
it the Adelphi last night naturally re
calls the fact that the same theatre be
gan Its previous season with another
mystery play, and consequently suggests
comparison with that earlier piece. "The
Blue rearl." like Bayard Veller's 'Thir
teenth Chair." Introduced the crime
under circumstances which sharply limit
culpability to one of a number of per
sons. Also like It. the atmosphere of
suspense Is successfully maintained at
high tension throughout. But "Tho Blue
Pearl" does not Introduce the eerie qual
ity of tho Velller melodrama : neither Is
any mechanical devleo utilized to add
the thrill of a tremendous dramatic sur
prise. On the other hand, the machinery
of "Tho Bluo Pearl" Is better oiled No
conversational brllllnnce or carefulness
of characterization Is permitted to Im
pede the swift progress of the plot. But
that Is only to be expected Your forth
right mystery melodrama seldom makes
nny literary pretentions.
George Nash as the shrewd police
commissioner provided most of the ex
citement. Ho Is the Ideal player for
'tich a hair-trigger role and carries It
with ease and assurance Among the
women Grace Carlyle and Julia Bruns
were especially deft in their work, the
former as an abused wife, tho latter as a
cat of cats. G. Oliver Smith was most
amusing as a "silly ass." Orlando Daly
exaggerated the melodramatic villainy
of his disagreeable role until It verged
at times on caricature. The other play
ers were quite acceptable
"Who's My Wife?" Broadway
Numerous comedy complications
which are enlivened now and then with
catchy songs made "Who's My Wife"
ill that could be desired as a headline
attraction at the Broadway. A sex
lette of pretty girls help to keep the
'tin moving. The act Is staged along
artistic lines
Good acts were also offered by Lee
and Bennett, O'Brien and his Southern
Girls nnd Blccolo's Midgets. "The
Claw" Is offered as tho photoplay at
traction. Manila Bay William Penii
Overflowing with tuneful melodies,
which alternate with good comedy, "On
Manila Bay." a musical tabloid present
ed nt the William Penn. made a distinct
hit Tho production Is tastefully staged
nnd includes several pretty girls, who
are well gowned.
Others who tcored hits were the Four
Harmony Kings. Clayton Mackln and
company nnd Armstrong and Tyson.
"Green Eyes," the photoplay attrac
tion, proved to be highly Interesting.

The gorgeous Oriental fantasy, "Chu
