HBH T b All Buyers of Photo- Engraving and Users of Printed Matter ' The cloud that appeared on the horizon of the pleasant relationship between the Employ ing Photo-Engravers of Philadelphia and the Engravers' Union has been fully dispersed by the sunshine of good sense. The fine spirit of co-operation between employers and employees that has existed here uninterruptedly for twenty-five years asserted itself and on Monday, January 17th, all Philadel phia Engraving shops reopened and resumed operations. Philadelphia has for many years enjoyed the reputation of producing the finest printing plates known to the trade. Many of the great improvements, new ideas and new effects in engravings have originated with the men and in the shops of this city. Hand in hand with high quality has gone an ever-widening idea of serv ice on our part and its realization by the clients we have had an opportunity to serve. The Pric of Photo En graving is Not Goin Up The executives and tlie workers in this industry are united in the desire to fully assist in a return to normal business conditions. We all believe that this nation is substantially and fundamentally able .to readjust and to go ahead. We believe that as a people we are going to make, market and consume more merchandise than . ever before, and that thefpr3!cts of America's work shops will find increased consumption abroad. To this end the Employing Photo-Engravers of Philadelphia, together with their employees, have joined hands in a mutual desire to produce the best that in them lies and to sell it as reasonably as possible. Photo-engravings are an exquisite combination of artistry and riiechanieal craftsmanship. The first can no more be measured by dollars and cents than can inspiration and ideals be constructed out of beef and beans. For the second we ask a fair return on the investment in plant and the most generous wage possi ble for the worker. wV'h at this time to express our appi tVNJ Dusmess friendships that have started and mattevd in years gone by, and we sincerely hope that in the years to come, as our ability to serve keeps pace , with our desire, we may merit continually increasing confidence as workmen. w Manufacturing Photo- Engravers' Association Tlei'lv KngnuinK Company CheSitnul Street lCiiKnninu (ompain Comnrtajial lMioto-KntfiavinK Company Klcctro'rVt Hngnninu Companv Knterprihe Enravinn Company Franklin IMiot 'liinmnjr Houm? reeiation oi Weeks IMiotd-Knnmng Company (iatehvl & Maniiiiii!, Inc.
