FJELPhEtM-ELLlOTT WEDDING On Monday evening at 8:00 P.M. at the Parsonage of the Kodiak Bap tist Church, Helen Elliott and Fred erick Fjeldheim were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony by the Rev, A, Warner. Avery beautiful ceremony was witnessed by the couple*s many fri ends present and the Wedding Prelude symbolic of the ceremony, was rend ered by Mr. Jack Agnew. The charming bride was dressed in a very becoming black and white checkered suit with !>an ensemble to match and wore a 'corsage of beautiful Alaskan wild [flowers. After the marriage vows had been exchanged and many felicitations wen (extended to the beaming couple, a [wedding breakfast was served in the [residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jack 'bolane. At this time, their friends Resented the newlyweds with a very hovel wedding' gift. It was in the (form of a genuine moosehide "poke1* used on many occasions to hold gold dust, filled with one hudred bright klearning dollars. ; Mrs. Fjeldheim has just recently arrived from .San Francisco, where sh< was employed by the Veteran’s Bureau In the capacity of registered nurse, fir .Fjeldheim is a Naval,,Base employe* NAKNEK VERY QUIET According to word recently received in a communication to the Mirror from Monte Morris, it j seems that business is very quiot j at Naknek. Mr. Davoy has completed considerable remodelling, a now §22,000 hotel has been erected, a new restaurant, pool-room and keveral new houses. The Red Salmon1 Cannery has remodelled their store! and the Alaska Packers have done over their cannery and store also.; On the plane trip to Naknek, I Monte states the sulphur fumes in the vicinity of Mt.Katmai were very obnoxious. They saw a brown bear and lots of beaver workings in between the "bumps", for it was plenty rough s,way up thar'1. He also said that they made a very rapid trip from Kodiak , in 1 hour and 30 minutes, due no doubt to a strong tail wind prevailing at that time. Commenting on the activ ity in that area, he states "thingp are very quiet here - only a man or two around”. Monte Morris plans on staying in the district for this summer ad. ^engage in fishing there.
