There will be athletic and novelty raccs^ a pic-eating contest, field sports and I boxing matches, if the weather permits. To promote spirited competition, cash awards to he made to every conostant as well as nominal ca3h prize3 to the win- ~ nor3 of each event. The Beauty Quoon representing the j 11 Spirit of Indonpcndcnco;i and who will j preside over both the Naval Base and towr dances, will be elected by a popular j penny-vote cf the people. All monies so j collected will be used to pay the various prize-monies, etc,, and the committee ! hopes for a large vote, Mr. Allman also stated that there would be a very attractive danco in the evening of the 4th, to be hold in Blinns Hall, with swing rythn supplied by the popular Holden orchestra.
