PUBLIC SERVICE PROPOSAL The Kodiak Public Utilitios Board composed of Mrs. Bon Kraft, chairman, R .K.Chadwick, J, Fredrickson, Charles Hop, directors end Norman Noble, clerk, called a special meeting last Monday, tc give audience to proposal submitted to this town, for public utilitios, by the Kodiak Public Scrvico Co., who was roprosentod locally by one of tho stock holders, Mr. Jack McCord. Briefly the Kodiak. Public Servico Co propose the construction of adequate transmission linos and powor house, to supply this community., with light and power. It is also their .intention to erect a small cold storage plant here to cost approximately $60,000, as well as a telephone exchange* Thoir engineers will survey the town for both sewerage system and increased wator supply. The Kodiak Public Service Co. is in corporated under the laws, of Alaska and is capitalized1 at §100,000, •' of which §35,000 has been paid in at the present time. It being a closed corporation, there will be no stock put on the market for sale; it will be absorbed by tho vsnious officers and directors. They arc Eugene Cunningham of tho Cascade Mach’y Co. After heading Mr. McCord present tho ’ proposition and reading the contract and corrcspondpnco submitted by the company, the Kodiak1 Public Utilitios Board voted unanimously to accept their proposal, conditibnal upon satisfactory evidence of thoir ability to finance the project and operate it .to t ho host interests of tho town of Kodiak.;.
